2. Hardware & Software Requirements
Hardware
- Raspberry Pi (any model)
- microSD card (16GB or higher)
- Power adapter

4. OS Installation Using Raspberry Pi Imager
4.1 Launch Raspberry Pi Imager
Open the Imager after installation.
4.2 Select Operating System
Choose one of the following:
- Raspberry Pi OS (32‑bit) — full desktop
4.3 Select Storage
Choose your microSD card.
4.4 Configure Advanced Options
Click the ⚙️ gear icon to open advanced settings.
✔ Enable SSH
- Enable SSH
- Allow password authentication
✔ Set Username & Password
- Username: pi
- Password: raspberry
✔ Set Hostname
- Hostname: raspberrypi
✔ Configure Wi‑Fi
- SSID: your Wi‑Fi or hotspot
- Password: your Wi‑Fi password
- Wi‑Fi country: IE (Ireland)
✔ Set Locale
- Timezone: Europe/Dublin
- Keyboard: English (UK)
✔ Final Options
- Eject media when done
- Play sound when finished
4.5 Write the OS
Click Write → wait until the process completes.
5. First Boot
Insert the SD card → power on the Raspberry Pi.
It will automatically:
- Connect to Wi‑Fi
- Enable SSH
- Apply hostname
- Apply user/password
6. Find Raspberry Pi IP
Use any of the following:

Or check your hotspot device list.
7. SSH Access
7.1 Connect via Hostname

8. System Update & Upgrade
Run essential updates:

10. Enable VNC Remote Desktop
10.1 Using raspi-config

10.2 Check VNC Service

10.3 Connect via VNC
Use RealVNC Viewer:
- Address: raspberrypi.local
- Port: 5900
- User: pi
- Password: raspberry

Edit DHCP client config:
